And One More Thing...

McCain and Palin have been doing their damndest to drag Obama through the mud, in a last ditch effort to win an election in which it has become clear they will lose. They keep repeating what Obama said to Joe the Plumber, (who is now conisidering his own congressional run) "I think that when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody," as if he had said "lets set some kittens on fire."

Perhaps John McCain should take a look back at something he said back in the days when his behavior was closer to that of the "maverick" that he claims to be. In 2000, he was speaking with a young woman on MSNBC's Hardball. She asked him if it was fair that her father, a very successful doctor, was in a higher tax bracket. McCain replied that “wealthy people can afford more” and that “the very wealthy, because they can afford tax lawyers and all kinds of loopholes, really don’t pay nearly as much as you think they do.” The exchange continued:

YOUNG WOMAN: Are we getting closer and closer to, like, socialism (OH NO! Not socialism!) and stuff?

MCCAIN: Here’s what I really believe: That when you reach a certain level of comfort, there’s nothing wrong with paying somewhat more.

Sound familiar?

Go vote.

This drives me nuts!

We don't have a flat tax in this country. We have always taxed the wealthy more to support infrastructure for all of us and social programs for the poor. Obama didn't invent this!
